The National Park Service is proud to once again join with the National Park Foundation, the official charity of America's national parks, to present National Park Week starting from April 21 until April 29, 2012.

If you're looking for something fun, free and fantastic, why not head out to America's National Parks where millions of stars light up the dark night sky, critters, deer and antelope play on the wide open land, mountains and hills?

The United States has 397 National Parks and has 84 million acres of the world's most popular scenery, historic landmarks and cultural treasures.

At any park, especially the big National Parks, your first stop should be the visitor center, where the staff generally have on-the-scene knowledge of the nature and state of the attractions.

Additionally, they can also tell you where wildflowers are blooming, elk are rutting, and waterfalls are surging, and can provide an up-to-the-minute weather forecast and the exact time of sunrise and sunset.

Furthermore, they can inform you about campsites and road closures, too. You may also spend sometime at your favorite bookstore browsing picture books, calendars, postcards, and posters to get a feeling for the park's overall surroundings and conditions. This will not only inspire you but also help you formulate your park visit.

Happy National Parks Week to everybody. Be safe and enjoy your park visit everyone!
